Prosthetic surgery

Prosthetic surgery allows restoring joint function in cases of severe damage or advanced degeneration, when conservative treatment is no longer sufficient. The aim is to restore mobility, reduce chronic pain and improve quality of life.

I indicate this type of surgery in selected cases of advanced arthrosis or irreparable structural injuries, and I apply techniques adapted to each joint and patient.

I carry out interventions for the installation of knee prosthesis, anatomical or inverted shoulder prostheses, as well as wrist prosthesis y of interphalangeal joints (fingers), especially in cases of severe wear and tear, traumatic sequelae or rheumatological diseases.

Thanks to advances in materials and surgical planning, these techniques allow for more precise, less invasive surgery with better functional results.

Common indications in prosthetic surgery:

  • Total or partial knee replacement

  • Anatomical or inverted shoulder prostheses

  • Total wrist prosthesis (in selected cases)

  • Interphalangeal prostheses (finger joints)

  • Severe and limiting osteoarthritis

  • Post-traumatic joint deformities

  • Sequelae of rheumatic injuries
